Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. When she was a kid she was enrolled in at the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was inspired to become an actor at age six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing, dancing and acting. At the age of ten, she took part and played the leading role in numerous Stagecoach School plays and productions. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times they and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on screen came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in the year 2001. The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance.
